Abstract
Manufacturing industry has experienced many changes in its direction over the last ten years from MRP II to the ever-developing ERP systems that today control many aspects of the business. Now the industry is gravitating from electronic document interchange (EDI) systems to electronic commerce for business-to-business and business-to-consumer trade. The author discusses the role of electronic-commerce in the competitive and changing world of manufacturing
