Abstract :
The paper considers peculiarities of the thermo field (TF) mechanism of electron emission occurring under conditions of a vacuum arc cathode spot. The effect of the electric field from individual ions arriving from a plasma at the cathode is described, as is its influence on a local deformation of the potential barrier near the surface. Expressions were derived to determine the number of the emitted electrons, and results of calculation are given
