Abstract :
This paper reports a major advance in string ribbon technology that allows for doubling the output of a string ribbon crystal growth and halving many associated costs. In conjunction with this, a number of advances in the growth technology have resulted in significant gains in production metrics and the lowest cost ribbon Evergreen Solar has ever produced.
