Abstract
The paper presents the results of numerical simulation and measurements of parameters of a planar antenna intended for ultrawideband communication, radiolocation, and radiotomography. The antenna can be used either as an element of ultrawideband antenna arrays or as an independent antenna. Having the dimensions of 50×40×40 mm, the antenna is well matched in the frequency band of 1.2-18 GHz. Antenna allows radiating and receiving UWB electromagnetic pulses of the duration ranging from 0.15 to 0.5 ns with small distortions. The antenna consists of FR4 printed board located in the L-shaped metal profile.
