Abstract :
The detailed analysis of electron flow complex behavior in a low-voltage vircator as a part of fully electromagnetic 3D computer simulation in CST Particle Studio is carried out. The main features of virtual cathode microwave devices construction modeling by the example of low-voltage vircator are shown. Many aspects and mechanisms of microwave generation are discovered. In addition, the character of physical phenomena involved in space charge oscillations is clarified. By means of CST Optimizer the optimization of geometrical and physical parameters is carried out to increase microwave generation efficiency.
