Abstract :
For multidimensional system, since the factorization theory is not well developed and multivariate system is generally much complex than univariate system, they are much less mature than ID filter banks. In this paper, a class of 2-D 2-channel linear phase perfect reconstruction filter banks is investigated. Based on a proposed conjecture, a lifting based approach to factorize a given FB of this class is presented. Though may not be provably complete, a construction method related to the factorization is also proposed. It is also compared with McClellan transform based design, and found to be better in terms of filter performance.
