Abstract
During a time when cellular systems are being deployed in massive scale worldwide, international roaming is becoming increasingly important. This raises end user´s interest in having access to one and the same global cellular service. Today this is being addressed within the context of FPLMTS. But the end user interest is already here, long before FPLMTS will be introduced. This paper proposes a solution that will enable cellular subscribers to experience a global cellular service, taking into account the current generation of different cellular standards, as well as the introduction of the third generation standard (FPLMTS)
