Abstract :
Summary form only given. Magnetic coupling between Ni/sub 81/Fe/sub 9/ double thin films separated by an insulating (SiO/sub 2/) spacer layer is investigated with magnetization (BH loop) and transport measurements under the conditions of a variable spacer thickness ranging from 0 to 5000 /spl Aring/. The structure studied is a double 480 /spl Aring/ Ni/sub 81/Fe/sub 19/ sandwiching an SiO/sub 2/ layer. Our BH measurements show evidence of a strong and variable interaction between the ferromagnetic films by altering the SiO/sub 2/ thickness.
