Abstract :
Summary form only given. Metal-oxide ferromagnetic granular films, such as Co-Al-O, Fe-Si-O, and Co-Sm-O, have been usually fabricated by sputtering. However materials synthesized by electrochemical reaction in aqueous solutions kept at temperatures below 373 K and at atmospheric pressure has several advantages over sputtering. In the present study, we reported that Co-Ce-O films were synthesized by a newly developed electrochemical method which may be called as "metal-oxide co-electrodeposition method", i.e. simultaneous deposition of Co and CeO/sub 2/ from the reaction solution containing CoCl/sub 2/ and CeCl/sub 3/. In this method Co precipitation is formed by ordinary metal-cation reductive reaction. On the other hand, CeO/sub 2/ precipitation is formed by the reductive reaction of dissolved oxygen.
