Abstract
A possible mechanism for the medical effect of puncture therapy that is based on neurophysiological data, the theory of recognition, and neurocomputing is proposed. It is hypothesized that the structure of the recognition system that is involved should contain a number of plates. A comparison of the morphological, anatomical, and biochemical data allows one to interpret the functions of every plate in terms of the theory of neurocomputing
