Abstract :
The paper presents the potential use of supplemental control of an existing Voltage Sourced Converter (VSC)-based Back-to-Back (BtB) in damping Subsynchronous Resonance (SSR) of a series capacitive compensated transmission system. The supplemental control is added to an existing VSC-based back-to-back tie in a transmission grid. The robustness of the considered supplemental control were tested for different grid configurations and loading scenarios.
