Abstract
Electromagnetic interference caused by partial discharges at HV insulators is investigated by measurement and simulation. This refers first to the development of an appropriate test arrangement. Furthermore, the broadband field emitted by the test setup is calculated in accordance with antenna theory. Influences of the setup environment on field propagation is discussed and statements about the prediction of field radiation by measurement of partial discharge or RIV are made
