Abstract
Evaluates the effects of fuzzy control parameters on speed control of a DC servo motor. The control method adopted is the fuzzy look up table method. Motor speed control experiments are conducted under no load and load-varying conditions. The authors use PI type fuzzy control in their study and make some comparisons to the PD type method. According to the results of practical motor speed control experiments, the authors evaluate the performance of the controller. The effects of fuzzy control parameters including quantized factor, scaling factor and control rule on servo motor speed control are evaluated in this study. Fuzzy control of “two-set” parameters is also used to make the two-step control possible for the control system. The control performance of this method is superior to that using one set constant parameters. Finally, the Taguchi parameter design method is also applied to selecting the input membership function of fuzzy control, and proven to be successful
