Abstract :
A novel, soft-switched, transformerless, DC to AC inverter, suitable for direct connection of photovoltaic (PV) panels is presented. The proposed topology features indirect energy transfer by means of a resonant AC link. This enables grounding of the DC side of the inverter, which is beneficial in PV installations. Operation of the proposed inverter is described and verified by simulations. Experimental prototype is constructed, and preliminary measurement results are presented.
