Abstract
In order to solve the problems in metrology support for aircraft integrated automatic test equipment (IATE), the paper proposes a set of built-in metrology project. First, the paper sets forth the principle of built-in metrology. Built-in metrology implies the construction of interior traceability chains by use of interior test modules within an IATE, and the test modules in one traceability chain can be measured gradually by levels. Second, it puts forward the R&D process of built-in metrology system for Aircraft X IATE, including demand analysis, methodology for built-in metrology, technology for built-in metrology, and exterior metrology subsystem. Third, it presents the implementation and application of the built-in metrology system for the IATE. The application shows the practice of built-in metrology can both considerably reduce the types and numbers of exterior measurement standard equipments for metrology support, in favor of mobile and on-site support, consequently implementing the synchronized customization of metrology support equipments and the IATE.
