Abstract :
A new version of the CMA/LMS adaptive array (constant modulus algorithm with the least-mean-square algorithm) that recovers both the arrival angles and the signals from multiple narrowband sources is presented. The algorithm operates in two stages, to resolve problems of imperfect cancellation found in single-stage multiple-emitter CMA algorithms. An orthogonalized CMA loop finds and adapts the beamforming weights in each direction: a new LMS cocanceller (LMSCC) loop finds and adapts the steering vectors in each direction. Interference-cancellation results from a real-time hardware implementation of the algorithm with a VHF antenna array are described
