Abstract
Power systems play a pivotal role in modern industry. Their failures can therefore result in serious social and economical damages. It is important for power systems to be highly reliable. This paper presents a new type of failure diagnosis system based on restructuring rough sets. The evaluation data of power transformer systems for their failure conditions are obtained from experts´ judgments with uncertainty. In particular, the rough set model can be applicable in situations where little knowledge and human experience are available for power system failure diagnosis.
