Abstract :
In this paper, we analyse promising network architectures with the potential to support the transport of 5G services. The main challenges of network architectures for functional and structural convergence between fixed and mobile networks are analysed. The potential technical and economic benefits of virtualization of mobile network functions are also discussed.
