Abstract
Microgrids are intentional islands formed at a facility or in an electrical distribution system that contain at least one distributed energy resource and associated loads. One of the most challenging aspects in the commercial deployment of microgrids is the ability to test and evaluate various microgrid technologies and system to evaluate their effectiveness. This paper discusses current testing of microgrid applications and the development of a new integration facility designed to accelerate the deployment of distributed resources including renewable energy technologies in advanced distribution system operations including microgrids.
