Abstract :
We theoretically investigated the conditions of surface plasmon polaritons (SPPs) propagation at the interface of a metal and smectic A liquid crystal (SALC). We evaluated the nonlinear susceptibility of SALC in the presence of SPP. The nonlinear SPP mixing results in the excitation of second sound (SS) surface waves.
