Abstract :
In order to gain the circling volume and weaving volume to evaluate the roundabout operation, the traffic flow distribution must be calculated or investigated. The distribution is related with the volume of the entry and exit, and also related with the land-use attraction of the exit. The relation above mentioned is the same as gravity model of the traffic generation. Therefore the attraction matrix was introduced as the general traffic impedance matrix, the daul-constraints gravity model is modified. Taking the Shuma Guangchang −4 legs roundabout in Dalian as the example and basis on the investigation data, the distribution was calculated by the equations and by modified gravity model. The average error of the modified gravity model was 3% in comparison with two calculation results. It was concluded that the dual-constraints gravity model based on the land-use could be used for the distribution of roundabout traffic flow.
