Abstract
A constant parameter equivalent circuit model is used to study the hybridization of various types of salient pole synchronous motor drives. A two-part rotor motor equivalent to a standard motor defined in the IPM parameter plane is characterized. The parameters of each part of the hybrid motor are defined to achieve a given constant power speed range (CPSR)
