Abstract :
In order to overcome the restrictions of conventional sensors, and get the mechanisms of smart sensing and self-adapting to ambient conditions, a framework of evolvable sensor is proposed based on the combining of the characteristics of conventional sensor and evolvable hardware. The paper introduces the preliminary research of evolvable sensor which has the capacity of self-adaptation and fault-tolerance based on the evolutionary algorithm and evolvable hardware. It is a kind of real intelligent sensor.
