Abstract :
A new mass-loading device for the small differential pressure standard using "double pressure balances" has been developed. The device is used to manipulate small weights in evacuated condition. The weight for generating differential pressure is composed of several small weights that are piled up vertically on the piston-cylinder assembly. This new device requires only one-axis control with a linear motion feedthrough, instead of a linear/rotary motion feedthrough used in the previous device. The new device can be used to fabricate an automatic control system, which enables more efficient calibration and is also expected to reduce the measurement uncertainty
