Abstract
With the development of engraving technology, engraving systems based on digital image processing technique has been accepted by the market with fast molding and low cost, and will be widely used in advertising, mould etc. In this study, the advantage of four thresholds algorithm is given by analyzing the problems of the traditional Canny edge detection algorithm. Then four thresholds algorithm is applied to the image processing system of CNC engraving machine. Experimental results show that the algorithm can efficiently and accurately detect the contour to engrave image.
