Abstract :
An open systems environment for security assessment is described. Multiple contingency cases of power systems are preprocessed by qualitative analysis techniques of artificial intelligence to get the independent double contingency emergency set. The double contingency cases can be assessed in parallel on open workstation systems of different vendors with multiple operating systems. Tests on an example system showed that the proposed methods have satisfactory speed with a convenient and reliable environment.
