Abstract :
We investigates the effect of 2D slice reductions prior to reconstructing surface(s) from 2D contour slices. Our aim is to achieve fast surface(s) reconstruction while preserving the acceptable quality outputs. The idea is to pre-select slice(s) to be excluded based on the slice´s properties. Our approach uses the number of points between a pair of slices as the basis to retain/reject the slice. We showed with a simple threshold, this approach could exclude slices gradually by increasing the threshold value. In this paper we demonstrate this with two set of medical data of reasonable size.
