Communication performance in a hierarchical bus system

An analysis is presented of a new bus structure, called the hierarchical bus structure. An exact analytical model of a two-level hierarchical bus is developed. The results from both the analytical model and simulation are shown. They indicate that a hierarchical bus would be a more cost-effective bus structure than the conventional multiple-bus and partial-multiple-bus structures
