Abstract :
In this paper, a multilevel current source inverter (CSI) fed induction motor drive with multilevel PWM control strategy is proposed for high-power applications. The multilevel CSI is configured with two classical CSI connected in parallel. This inverter with proposed PWM control strategy is firstly used for feeding constant RL. This strategy used for multilevel CSI permit to have lower THD of load current. For verifying of achieved results, proposed strategy is used for multilevel current source inverter fed induction motor drive. Compared with classical current source inverter, simulation results show that motor torque ripple with the proposed inverter reduces considerably then we have better performance.
