  • Abstract
We develop a novel QoS-aware energy-efficient upstream traffic scheduling algorithm for channel-bonding cable modems (CMs) in hybrid fiber-coaxial (HFC) networks. Based on their QoS requirements, the algorithm sends incoming packets to different priority queues and controls channel-bonding transmitters (TXs) to forward them. Based on a vacation M/M/n queuing model, we analyze the algorithm´s performance with a three-dimensional Markov chain and derive the analytical expressions of packet delay and power consumption.
