Abstract :
The purpose of this paper is to present a concise review of the method used up to now for the description of electrical discharge lamps as part of an electronic circuit. Several attempts to describe the lamp by an equivalent electric circuit have been made with more or less accurate results. Some attempts to integrate "physical" discharge models based on the electrical conductivity of the plasma have also been achieved.
