Abstract :
Radio irregularity is a phenomenon that is present in wireless sensor networks that makes its radio range non-spherical in nature. On the other hand, design of topology control protocol usually considers connectivity and energy consumption as the main factors for implementation. We develop both linear and non-linear models to capture radio irregularity using regression analysis on distance and received signal strength. These models are assessed by implementing a simple middleware to be added to topology control algorithms
