Abstract :
In our previous work, power time differential detection (PTDD) has been proposed for finger identification scheme (FIS), which is an application of intra-body communication. In this paper, phase detection is proposed to realize FIS with low implementation cost. The identification probabilities of FIS models by employing PTDD and phase detection are evaluated experimentally and statistically. The results show that FIS using phase detection perfectly identifies fingers at carrier frequency of 1.2 GHz. Moreover, time difference enhancement method (TDEM) is proposed and theoretically analyzed. Both phase detection and TDEM have the possibility to reduce the implementation cost of FIS as well as to improve the performance of FIS.
