Abstract :
Telco, cable, satellite, and electric-utility industries are racing to bring new services to the home, using fiber, coax, microwaves, or telephone lines delivering high-speed Internet access, telephony, and digital TV and audio. We make two important observations: point-of-entry or other new interfaces are needed in all cases, and the performance of existing in-home wiring is frequently inadequate
