  • Abstract
The process of implementing the harmonic balance method for linear and nonlinear microwave circuits is addressed. A very simple procedure that only requires writing Kirchoff´s equations for any class of circuits is proposed. These equations represent the core of the harmonic balance problem without any algebraic manipulations. It is shown that the procedure not only provides an indirect way of circuit partitioning for any complicated circuit, but also takes less CPU time than the classical method. As a tutorial example, the partitioning of an NE71000 MESFET is presented
