Abstract :
We adapt silicon-on-insulator 100μm-core multimode interferometer waveguides for two-dimensional microparticle trapping and manipulation. The waveguide mode fields in 1550nm wavelengths enable thermal flow assisted optical manipulation of 2.2μm polystyrene microparticles in a thin fluidic cell.
