Author_Institution :

Abstract :
Consultants´ Networks are formed by IEEE members who are active in or interested in becoming active in the area of consulting. The networks, which in 1996 number 20 nationwide, offer their members a place where they can meet and network. The Private Practitioners Task Force (PPTF) was formed in January of 1992 to identify the needs of the individual Consultants´ Networks, to help new Consultants´ Networks get started, and to determine the long range future of them. The PPTF is part of the United States Activities Board (USAB). It is a Task Force reporting to the Member Activities Council (MAC), one of five Councils in USAB. USAB has taken the lead in the IEEE and has been very supportive and helpful to the Consultants´ Networks.
