Abstract :
Research to produce a digital device which can aid audiologists in working with the hearing impaired is described. The device is referred to as the digital audiologist´s toolbox or DATbox. It provides the audiologist with the capability of performing various audiometric tests on the patient, as well as the capability of performing biaural speech equalization to improve the hearing-impaired patient´s speech perception and discrimination abilities. A prototype (walkman style) biaural digital hearing aid has been designed
