Abstract :
In this paper, the mathematical model of the 3D magnetic field in the rotor end region of a large turbogenerator at asynchronous operation is presented. The general process of different boundary conditions and 3D adaptive-mesh generation are used for increasing computation speed and reducing memory. Taking a 300 MW turbogenerator as an example, the rotor end field and eddy current density are calculated. The results can be used for analyzing the performance of the generator.
