Abstract
American Electric Power (AEP) is one of the largest electric utilities in the United States delivering electricity to customers in 11 states: AEP East (Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, Virginia, West Virginia, Kentucky, Tennessee) and AEP West (Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Texas). AEP is a member of three Regional Transmission Organizations/ Independent System Operators: PJM Interconnection, SPP (Southwest Power Pool) and ERCOT (Electric Reliability Council of Texas). AEP owns approximately 39,000 circuit miles of transmission lines that includes more 765 kilovolt (kV) extra-high voltage transmission lines than all other U.S. transmission systems combined. This paper presents the integration of transmission lines for Indiana and Ohio which will have to developed the wind generation development.
