Abstract :
The excitation and scattering of electromagnetic waves by a number of cylindrical bodies of arbitrary cross-section are analyzed. The electrodes are assumed to be embedded in an isotropic medium that may or may not be unbounded. The solution relies on the boundary element method (BEM) which results from an integral formulation of the electromagnetic field equations. The isotropic bodies consist of arbitrarily lossy material. The inclusion of anisotropic material in the formalism is discussed. Selected results demonstrate the generality of the approach
