  • Abstract
The dynamic analysis of modern power systems often requires computational assistance from software. Analysis software can be difficult to manipulate for exploring the characteristics of a power system, especially under a large number of operating conditions. In addition, many stability results are output in large tables of data, which leaves room for better visualization. This paper considers how user scripts can extend the functionality of analysis software and provide clearer visualizations to facilitate a quicker and wider interpretation of the results. One application is the assessment of the increasingly stochastic nature of modern power systems. Showing the systems characteristics change over a range of operating conditions facilitates better understanding of the system. The free open source software, PSAT has been used to show the use of user scripts and visualizations.
