Abstract :
In this paper, a new reference summary generation technique for extracting easy as well as important sentences as summary in the context of e-Learning is suggested. Also, various evaluation techniques are discussed with a new target audience based system evaluation technique for the academic domain. The focus of the research is on text summarization to improve readability for learners with reading difficulties in the e-Learning scenario involving both extrinsic and intrinsic evaluations. The study explores the relation between text readability and learner dependent features which aim to make the text more readable for learners with reading difficulties. The experiments and the outcomes of them suggest that the assistive summary helps to improve readability for the learners with reading difficulties.
