Abstract :
Based on the special characteristics of mutual coupling between elements, we present a blind calibration method for uniform circular arrays in this paper. Unlike most previous methods, which need complex numerical computation, accurate pattern measurement, or additional calibration procedure, the method we propose use the signals impinging on the array to carry out both direction of arrival (DOA) estimation and array calibration simultaneously. Representative computer simulation results show the potential usefulness of the proposed method toward satisfactory estimation accuracy and robustness to coupling values.
