Transformer design review — Important step in the technical risk management of the transformer procurement and design/manufacturing process

Over the past 15 or more years Australian transformer industry went through the significant changes both on the purchasers side and on the side of suppliers. Those changes directly impact management of the technical risk on the side of the purchasers in the process of the procurement and on the side of the suppliers in the process of design and manufacture. This paper is describing those changes, their impact to the technical and commercial risks and suggests how industry if working together throughout the process can better manage those risks. Transformer design review can significantly contribute in the reduction and in control of the technical and commercial risks of the whole process.
