Abstract :
An overview of future telecommunication radio systems in the ISDN (integrated services digital network) era is presented with emphasis on mobile communications, local networks, and indoor communications. The authors then describe two radio systems that are currently being tested at CNET. They have been especially designed to cope with ISDN requirements. The first is a cost-effective millimeter-wave subscriber loop giving 2B+D access. The second is a very short-range system designed for indoor extensions of ISDN. On the terminal side, the IC card-sized UHF front end is totally passive
