Abstract :
Fractal characteristics of electrical treeing phenomena in XLPE insulation and the treeing initiation mechanism were investigated. The electrical trees grown at various test condition were all fractals from the linear relationship between the grid scale and the sum of grids covering the tree by scale covering method. The optical intensity measurement mas introduced to explain the tree growth model on the basis of step growth model
