Abstract :
Mongolia has rich resources of stone and brown coal which evenly distributed in whole territory of the country. As of today, consumers of central economic zone are supplied with coal by two major mines based on Baganuur and Shivee-Ovoo. Baganuur´s mine still supplies all power plants of Ulaanbaatar city as they were designed to use coal of this mine. During recent years, Shivee-Ovoo mine supplies coal to power plant No. 4 located in Ulaanbaatar city, but qualities of coal for this mine still need more deep research, it standing certain problems. In future we are planning to supply not only native consumers by Shivee-Ovoo coal, also to construct largest power plant on the basis of this mine. So, more detailed research is faced us for Shivee-Ovoo´s mine coal. This report presents some results of the research that focused will widely use this coal in energy sector.
