Abstract :
Signals in the communication system are carried by radio frequency EM waves whose frequencies are provided by Local Oscillators through the mixing function of mixers. They are received and unloaded again at where mixers are. Mixers with good isolation and linearity are highly appreciated. In this paper, mixers of high gain ranged from 3.5 GHz to 10 GHz are to be presented. The circuits are designed by the use of TSMC 0.18 μm CMOS model implanted in Agilent ADS. Based on Gilbert Cell Mixer, circuits with Vdd=1.38 volt are to be extended using extra passive devices to optimize the functioning. One is thus able to develop mixers with comparatively high gain of about 10 dB, improved isolations, and lower noise figures.
