Abstract
The Binary Offset Carrier (BOC) modulated signal, originating from the modernized GPS proposals, is a new signal type. The sharp autocorrelation function (ACF) of a BOC-modulated signal can greatly improve positioning accuracy and anti-multipath performance, but its multi-peak autocorrelation function also triggers acquisition ambiguity. Based on the acquisition process of GPS signals, this paper presents two unambiguous acquisition methods of BOC-modulated signals, SCPC and Bump-Jump. Their detection probability and mean acquisition time are calculated respectively so as to make a comparison. Matlab simulation results show that the acquisition performance of Bump-Jump is better under the condition of low carrier to noise ratio (CNR).
